100 Joer motoriséiert Landwirtschaft zu Lëtzebuerg

Agriculture in Luxembourg has undergone tremendous change over the past 100 years.

The first combine harvester - for some it was simply evil, for others it was the symbol of progress. Technology changed agriculture.

The mechanization in agriculture is the story of a change that can be experienced with the senses. In the past you could smell the "country air", today the machines make the village and the corridors as loud as the city. Change continues, albeit not always as anticipated. "This is just the beginning of technology," said a grandfather to his grandson when the first combine harvester drove through the village: "The next generation of bread comes out of the back."

The “Conservatoire National de Véhicules Historiques” invites the public to immerse themselves in the history of this historical change and to witness the first exhibition that focuses on machines that work purely in Luxembourg. With diachronic documents and photos, you can literally feel this significant change in the “Garage Jean Wagner” halls, which is still shaping agriculture in Luxembourg today.
