Fair Fashion Days

Program

How much do our clothes really cost? And is it acceptable to kill animals for fashion?

As part of the Fair Fashion Days, the Ciné Scala presents two films that raise these questions, but also show positive developments and alternative paths. Organised in the framework of the Rethink your clothes campaign in collaboration with Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg and Weltbuttek Dikrich.

21/04 MADE IN BANGLADESH

Shimu fled her village as a child when her stepmother threatened to marry her off to a middle-aged man. Now 23 and living in the capital, she works grueling hours for paltry sums at a textile factory while her husband searches for work.

22/04 SLAY

SLAY is a feature documentary film exploring the interwoven harms caused by fashion’s use of fur, leather and wool. Following investigative filmmaker Rebecca Cappelli as she travels the world uncovering some of fashion’s best kept secrets, a harrowing story of greenwashing, environmental destruction, unjust treatment of workers, and animal exploitation unravels.
